About Us

Gerry McCarthy was President of the Dental Council of Ireland from 2015 to 2020. He was president of the Irish Dental Association in 2005. Previous to that, he was Honorary Secretary of the Irish Dental Association, President of the Kerry Branch of the Irish Dental Association and Chairman of the South & Mid- Western Branch of the Postgraduate Medical and Dental Board.

Philip is the newest member to join Kenmare Family Dental in May, 2021. Philip graduated from the University of Liverpool in 2013. Philip is qualified in CPR and First Aid.

Barry Lemasney is a visiting orthodontist from Limerick, who visits this practice once a month.

Elizabeth Cremin is our Dental Hygienist. She starting working in this practice in February 1994 and studied Oral Hygiene in UCC from 2001 to 2003 where she graduated with a Diploma in Dental Hygiene (Hons). She specialises in scaling, root planning and Oral hygiene instruction.

Lena joined our team in 2020 after graduating from UCC with a Diploma in Dental Hygiene (Hons.). She has a B.Sc. in Dental Practice Management with Oral Health Promotion and is also a qualified Dental Nurse.

Jane O’Brien is our Practice Manager and is married to Gerry. She graduated from Trinity College Dublin 1984 with an honours degree in History and French. Following this she received a post graduate diploma in Library and Information Studies from UCD in 1986. In 2007 she continued her studies with an Advanced Certificate in English from U.C.C. Jane has looked after the administrative side of the practice since 1989.

Tracey joined the team in 2009 working part time as a dental nurse. She is a now a registered dental nurse, after attending Cork University Dental School and Hospital where she completed her dental nursing training, and subsequently graduated in 2015. She is also qualified in CPR and First Aid. Tracey has successfully completed a course in Intra Oral and Panoramic Dental Radiography.

Veronica O’Connor is a Dental Nurse here at Kenmare Family Dental. Veronica joined the practice in 1998 and completed the Diploma in Dental Nursing in 2000. She is also qualified in CPR and First Aid.

Fiona Doyle is a receptionist here at Kenmare Family Dental. Fiona joined the team in July, 2020. Fiona holds a Diploma in International Hotel Management and a B.Comm Degree in Marketing from NUIG.

Stacey is the newest member to join our team; she started in November, 2023 as a trainee dental nurse.  Stacey holds a level 5 degree in Psychology and Social Studies from Cork College of Commerce and is currently studying for a level 6 degree as a Special Needs Assistant.  She is qualified in CPR and first aid.  Stacey works primarily alongside our hygienist but also assists on the front desk.
