Dr. Gerry McCarthy

Dental Surgeon, B.D.S N.U.I

Gerry McCarthy is the current President of the Dental Council of Ireland. He was president of the Irish Dental Association in 2005. Previous to that, he was Honorary Secretary of the Irish Dental Association, President of the Kerry Branch of the Irish Dental Association and Chairman of the South & Mid- Western Branch of the Postgraduate Medical and Dental Board.

Dr. Divya Moorthy

Dental Surgeon, BSc. UniMelb., BDS NUI

Divya Moorthy was born in Singapore and received her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Melbourne. After which, she graduated from University College Cork. During her time in the University, she did research on the importance of flossing and plaque control, designed a novel method of delivery of anaesthesia to patients and received an endodontic award in her final year of dental school. She joined our team in 2018. She is currently the Kerry branch representative to the Irish Dental Association.

Dr. Barry Lemasney

Orthodontist, B.D.S. N.U.I. M.med Sci.U., D.Ortho., M.Ortho.R.C.S.Eng

Barry Lemasney is a visiting orthodontist who is in Kenmare every six to eight weeks.

Elizabeth Cremin

Hygienist, Dip. D.N., Dip.D.Hyg.

Elizabeth Cremin is our Dental Hygienist. She starting working in this practice in February 1994 and studied Oral Hygiene in UCC from 2001 to 2003 where she graduated with a Diploma in Dental Hygiene (Hons). She specialises in scaling, root planning and Oral hygiene instruction.

Jane O’Brien

Practice Manager, B.A. Dip. L.I.S.

Jane O’Brien is our Practice Manager and is married to Gerry. She graduated from Trinity College Dublin 1984 with an honours degree in History and French. Following this she received a post graduate diploma in Library and Information Studies from UCD in 1986. In 2007 she continued her studies with an Advanced Certificate in English from U.C.C. Jane has looked after the administrative side of the practice since 1989.

Tracey Baker

Dental Nurse, R.D.N.

Tracey joined the team in 2009 working part time as a dental nurse. She is a now a registered dental nurse, after attending Cork University Dental School and Hospital where she completed her dental nursing training, and subsequently graduated in 2015. She is also qualified in CPR and First Aid. Tracey has successfully completed a course in Intra Oral and Panoramic Dental Radiography.

Veronica O’Connor

Dental Nurse, Dip. Dental Nursing

Veronica O’Connor is a Dental Nurse here at Kenmare Family Dental. Veronica joined the practice in 1998 and completed the Diploma in Dental Nursing in 2000. She is also qualified in CPR and First Aid.
